Volunteers planted nearly 300 new trees around town in a joint community effort.
The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara-on-the-Lake Communities in Bloom, and the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority partnered to plant a total of 275 native sapling trees on Town-owned properties over a two-day period, with work beginning April 22 along the Three Mile Creek tributary and ending this past Saturday at the stormwater retention pond at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Taylor Road. Representatives from each partner, along with volunteers, helped complete the work in areas identified as needing native trees.
