As reported in the St. Catharines Standard 02-06-18. 
There was no opposition filed with respect to a proposed policy to protect municipal trees during construction. This new policy was designed to assist the municipality to implement the existing by-law that was passed in 2012.
Some of the changes may include the placement of fences around trees during construction and the possible requirement of an arborist report.
